The Story Behind the Calendar

This Iceland puffin calendar was years in the making - literally. I'd been dreaming about photographing these incredible seabirds on their dramatic clifftop homes since I first picked up a camera. When I finally made it to Iceland's remote coastlines, those charismatic little "sea parrots" didn't disappoint. Each month of this calendar featured a different side of puffin life - from their comical expressions to their incredible diving abilities.

Spending days perched on windswept cliffs, waiting for the perfect moment when a puffin would emerge with a beak full of fish or spread those distinctive orange feet for landing, reminded me exactly why these wild places and their inhabitants matter so much.
