The Wild in Focus - Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Shipping

How long will it take to get my print?

I know you're excited to get your new art on the wall. All prints are made to order right here in the US, just for you. You can expect your new piece to arrive in 7-10 business days. We'll send you tracking information as soon as it's heading your way.

What are the shipping costs?

To keep things simple, shipping is on us for all orders over $100 within the United States. For anything under that, a standard shipping fee will be calculated at checkout.

What is your return policy?

My goal is for you to be inspired by these prints and to feel a connection to the wild places they represent. If your order arrives damaged or there's an issue with the quality, please contact me within 7 days of delivery with a photo of the problem, and I'll make it right—no question.

Because every piece is custom-printed for your specific order, we can't accept returns for other reasons like ordering the wrong size. Please be sure to double-check your selections before you finalize your purchase!

Products & Quality

What kind of quality can I expect?

I take quality seriously. Every visual in the store is a fine art print, created using high-quality, archival materials. This means the colors will be rich and vibrant, and the details will be sharp and clear for years to come. The whole idea is to give you a unique perspective on the world that you can cherish in your home.

Why should I buy a print instead of just looking at photos online?

That's a great question. Looking at an image on a screen is one thing, but holding a physical print is a completely different experience. A high-quality print allows you to see the details, textures, and depth of a scene in a way a backlit screen just can't replicate. It transforms a fleeting digital moment into a permanent piece of art that can inspire you daily. It's a tangible connection to the wild.

How do I choose the right format for my space?

Think about your room's personality:

  • Lustre prints work beautifully in traditional or eclectic spaces where you want rich, detailed imagery
  • Metal prints are perfect for modern, minimalist spaces where you want colors to really pop
  • Canvas brings warmth and texture to any room, working especially well in cozy or rustic environments

Still not sure? Reach out—I'm happy to help you choose based on your specific space and the story you want to tell.

Do you sell digital files or Lightroom presets?

At the moment, I don't sell digital files for personal use, as I want to ensure everyone experiences the work through a high-quality physical print. However, I am planning to launch digital products like presets and guides in the near future! The best way to find out when they drop is to join the mailing list.

Why Buy from The Wild in Focus?

What makes The Wild in Focus different from stores like West Elm or CB2?

You're not just buying wall art—you're investing in a story. Every print represents a real adventure, from accidentally discovering "Austin Glow" while learning drone photography to tracking wolves in Yellowstone after recovering from Bell's palsy. Major retailers sell mass-produced prints that thousands of other people will have hanging in their homes. When you buy from The Wild in Focus, you're getting a piece that connects you to wild places and supports an independent artist who's still out there exploring.

Why are your prints more expensive than what I can find at major stores?

Because quality and authenticity cost more than mass production. Here's what you're getting for that investment:

  • Museum-quality materials: Giclée lustre prints, metal prints, and canvas that honor the soul of these wild places
  • Direct artist support: Your purchase funds the next adventure, whether that's tracking wildlife in Yellowstone or exploring Iceland's remote landscapes
  • Exclusive imagery: These aren't stock photos you'll see everywhere—they're captured during real adventures, often in challenging conditions
  • Conservation impact: Every sale supports the mission of protecting wild places by sharing their beauty

Why should I support an independent artist over established retailers?

When you buy from major stores, you're supporting corporate profit margins. When you buy from The Wild in Focus, you're:

  • Funding real adventures: Your purchase helps support the next photography expedition
  • Supporting conservation: Every image shared helps people connect with wild places worth protecting
  • Getting authentic stories: Each print comes with the real story of how it was captured—the weather, the challenges, the unexpected moments
  • Joining a community: You become part of a network of people who value authentic experiences over mass-produced decoration

Are these limited editions or signed prints?

Currently, these are open edition prints and aren't individually signed. What makes them special isn't artificial scarcity—it's the authentic story behind each image and the direct connection to the artist who captured it during real adventures.

What's the story behind your photography?

My journey from preferring the couch in Alabama to exploring places like Iceland and New Zealand proves that adventure is possible for anyone. Starting with "horribly framed" drone photos in Austin parks, overcoming health setbacks including Bell's palsy, and building the courage for international travel—every image represents growth, resilience, and the transformative power of unexpected discoveries.

General Questions

Can I license an image for my business?

Yes. If you have a commercial project in mind, please use the Contact form to send me the details. I'm always open to seeing if it's a good fit.

Do you offer custom sizes or materials?

If you have a specific size or a different material (like metal or acrylic) in mind that you don't see in the store, send me a message through the Contact page. I'll check on what's possible and get back to you with a quote.

What if I'm not satisfied with my purchase?

You're buying directly from the artist who captured these moments. If there's any issue with quality or if the print doesn't match your expectations, I'll make it right. That's a level of personal attention you'll never get from a corporate retailer.
